I’MNOVATION 2022 is here! Check out the open challenges and sign up.

October 16

END OF INSCRIPTIONS

Haven’t applied yet, run! The deadline for applications is October 16th.

November 7

SELECTION DAY

The finalist startups will pitch to a committee that will decide the winner. This startup will develop a pilot in a real environment for 6 months with us.

December 14

DEMO DAY

Each team will present the results obtained to the decision committee that will evaluate the continuity and scaling of the program.

CONTEXT

  • In-person inspections can pose safety risks to workers, as they work at heights, in confined spaces, with the potential exposure to silica dusts.
  • Several sign off inspections are required for every area of work, duplicating effort and slowing down the process.
  • In-person inspections means time travelled to site, and works paused, causing delays and cost inefficiencies to the project.

OPPORTUNITY

  • Reducing number of people working within the tunnel environment to reduce exposure to hazards such as silica dust, working at heights, and confined spaces through the enhancement and automation of inspection processes based on digital technologies as AI, LiDAR scans, and virtual reality that could reduce people from tunnel environment and reduce time to achieve quality approvals

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

  • Visual AI to identify defects in concrete and pavements
  • 3600 image technology to provide sufficient image quality for inspections & walk throughs that can be performed remotely
  • LiDAR scans using drones or SLAM scanners to provide location data for applications that don’t require <5mm accuracy but are sufficient to replace manual effort for conformance purposes
